Nos dias 6 e 7 de Novembro, o conjunto de organizações sindicais gregas leva a cabo uma Greve Geral de 48 horas em protesto contra as mais recentes medidas anti-laborais e anti-sociais de austeridade votadas no Parlamento Grego.

Solidarity of CGTP-IN with General 48-hour strike on 6 and 7 November 2012 to protest against the latest austerity measures in Greece
Dear Colleagues,
The CGTP-IN and its members strongly and fraternally support your 2-day General Strike in Greece against the new package of austerity, anti-worker and anti-social deregulation measures, voted in the Greek Parliament, which will, yet again, hit the workers, the pensioners and the poorer layers of your society.
Those are, just like in Portugal, brutal measures dictated by the troika in connivance with the respective governments of our two countries, measures that are leading to the accelerated destruction of our countries productive fabrics, to deep economic recession, to profound social regression, to an unprecedented attack on workers and social rights and to added workers and people’s exploitation.
Like you, we fully reject and fight against these aggression programmes, conducted by international institutions such as the IMF, ECB and EU that undermine our sovereignties, try to destroy workers and popular rights and gains, to maximise their profits and lead to the global impoverishment of our societies.
Following many previous strikes, demonstrations and protest actions, the CGTP-IN has called for a protest action coinciding with the visit of Angela Merkel to Portugal , on December 12th, and of course for a General Strike in Portugal, on November 14th, to protest “Against exploitation and impoverishment, for a Portugal with a future”.
All across Europe, the workers and peoples are rising and fighting back. This is in fact a time for the advance of class based action and struggle, to defeat the violent offensive of big capital against the workers and peoples, so that we may build an alternative course for each of our countries, for Europe and for the world, a future of social justice, without exploitation.
Please convey to all the Greek workers you represent, the sincere and militant solidarity of the CGTP-IN with your 48 hour General Strike.
